Cuttwood Boss ReserveManufacturer: Cuttwood
Flavor: Boss Reserve
Flavor Profile: A golden honey graham cereal with roasted nut clusters. Drenched in creamy milk & layered with sliced bananas.
Anytime something is released as a “Reserve” edition, it’s gotta be good right? There’s so many expectations for a Reserve Whiskey, or a Vintage Wine (same thing) so the expectations for a Reserve e-Liquid is no different. Cuttwood makes some damn good e-Liquid so you can imagine how excited we are to try the Boss Reserve juice. It only comes in a big 30mL bottle so they much are serious about it!
Mmmm… It smells just like Honey Cluster Oats cereal. Granola cereal drizzled with honey and almond slivers. There’s also ripe bananas on the nose. If it smells this good, it’s gotta taste amazing.
On the inhale, the first thing I notice is a sweet creaminess and banana. On the end of the inhale I can start to taste the cereal, granola, and almonds. The flavors are all there, each one stands out and occurs at different points of the inhale, a true sign of a quality e-Liquid.
The banana is strong on the exhale followed by honey. There’s a subtle creaminess there while the granola and almond flavors linger on the tongue. There’s a slight caramel note as well which I wasn’t expecting but it’s delicious.
The texture is a little on the thin side but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. There’s no info on the PG/VG ratio but I would guess that it’s around a 50 PG / 50 VG blend since the liquid is much runnier than a 70 VG / 30 PG blend that I usually vape on. But regardless, I still get a thick cloud but it does dissipate rather quickly.
The Boss Reserve really lives up to expectations and even exceeds them. Each flavor note is distinct and occurs at different points which are outstanding. It’s a good thing it comes in a 30mL bottle because I think I’m going to go through this stuff quick. It’s really an all-day vape although that comes with a slight drawback.
For a relatively light colored e-juice and a thinner blend, it does get a little gunky on the wick. So if you’re going to be using it all day like I have, you’re going to be re-wicking a little more often. But to me, it’s worth it. The other drawback which could also be a pro is that it’s only available in a 30mL bottle so it’s a little more expensive. But the nice thing is that there isn’t a premium on the price. It costs the same as 2 bottles of 15mL Cuttwood so this isn’t really a con.
I’m impressed. This is definitely a delicious e-Liquid that I can’t put down. The re-wicking aside which I’m more than willing to do for this juice is a non-issue to me. Highly, highly recommended.
